Boyscout pack frames are readily available for about $10-$20 plus shipping on eBay. I might even have access to one locally, if you want to try one sometime.

That frame is really different than the boyscout frame that sandtrooper packs are typically made of. I bent mine by just putting it in my vice and pulling on it a little. That one you have looks like it's reinforced to prevent bending? If the frame you have is used for Ghostbusters packs, maybe you'...

RT armor is made for taller, bigger guys. The new, improved FX Armor, called AM now, is also made for taller, bigger guys, alsthough I don't know exactly HOW tall and big. There are plenty of threads about AM armor, and where to get it, on the FISD and MEPD forums. *Edit by mods: removed website URL...

Interest Thread - FX Sandy Helmet Sale?

I'm just curious - would anyone want to buy a used FX sandtrooper helmet, and if so, roughly how much would you maybe pay for it - ballpark? I'm just trying to figure out if I should keep it or perhaps sell it now that I have a new helmet. Here are some photos of it. Ignore the clean helmet in the p...

RT-Mod / FX Helmet Comparison

Just finished putting together an RT-Mod Helmet kit. I'll sand/weather it tomorrow. FYI, here are some comparison photos of the RT-Mod on the left (nice and clean) and the FX on the right (weathered/sanded) ... http://s269.photobucket.com/albums/jj43/johnqtk5122/501st/RT-Mod_Helmet/FX_Comparison/ Ph...

Mills Fleet Farm (not Farm & Fleet) has those on sale for $10. Thin, not super hot, but probably too warm for indoor trooping. I bought one for outdoor trooping, but I'm returning it because the weather is so stinking warm (not that I'm complaining).

Stormtrooper Gloves at Wal-Mart

You know how we’re not supposed to have “visible strapping” on our gloves but I always have? I went looking for proper gloves tonight and found some. Isotoner Sensations, stretch classics, women's one size fits all. Only $10! On my hands, they fit tight enough that I will be able to grasp things, an...

FX Troopers - Cut Your Butt

I just wanted to take a minute to encourage any of you stormtroopers with FX or similar armor to go ahead and cut off the butt flap part (just below the belt in back) if you haven't already done so. It make the armor much more comfortable, in addition to screen accurate. I just got everything in ord...

Welcome Frank!

It took us 5 years, but we made it, dude!

(Frank and I live in the same town, go to the same church, and went to SW Celebration 2 together in 2002. We said at that time we wanted to get armor. Now here we are, both joining the 501st!)

Thanks, everyone!

I'm having fun already. My friend, Frank (also a new member, TK-9156) and I participated in the Waukesha, Wisconsin Christmas Parade last weekend, and I'm looking forward to more events in Wisconsin and nearby.

After all, I didn't get this armor just to wear it on Halloween! :D
