Actually, since the mall that the bookstore is in had "The Cider and Cinnamon Festival" planned for Saturday, the owner really wanted to participate again this year and had us start the festivities Friday evening. We were fortunate to use an empty store in addition to the various tables spread out near the store due to the potential for poor weather, but the clouds behaved.
The owner had the kids (and kids-at-heart) make lightsabers from pipe insulators and duct tape, grow saber crystals (rock salt crystal experiments), make Yoda Sodas, crack an Imperial code, make thumb print characters, blast at targets using NERF darts, Star Wars origami, Star Wars trivia, (and I showed proper saber technique to a few of the younglings- how to hold, how to pose, and NO HITTING
