On a very cold (28 degree and breezy) Black Friday, members of both the MWG and RL Nar Shaddaa took part in the Crystal Lake Holiday Lights parade. We all arrived around 6:30 to get suited up in the train station parking lot. With just minutes to spare we rushed over to the starting area of the parade at the Municipal Center. Parade route was just under a mile long and snaked around through downtown Crystal Lake. There were lots of people camped out along the route and I must say just like everywhere we were very well-received. Parade wrapped up at 7:45 and we headed home. There will be video soon of the parade, and as that's made available I'll post it.
Attendees

Patrick Lewis - Jedi - RL Member (Future TK too!)

Event was a just for fun event. No direct support of any charity that I'm aware of!

Tallest gathering of troops yet!
Many bothans died to bring you this post...the tearing of ligaments and almost the loss of a TK's finger...

I was pretty warm. I was even wearing a knit hat under the bucket. Not quite as nice for everyone else. Roughest part really was standing around in the cold getting changed. This was a really fun event that I'd love to do again next year. Hopefully I'll get it posted sooner next year. It would be even better with more troopers.

Think i'd rather stick to these nice "small town" parades instead of running the streets of the big city dodging poopy

Very cool....
very, very cool!
Where I do agree that small parades are a lot more fun..
one thing did occur to me at the Thanksgiving Day Parade this year as I watched the parade for a time on State Street while we had that long wait to step off...
Bands and groups for all over the country (I saw groups from Oklahoma, North Dakota, Florida, Poland, Georgia and California...to name a few) came to Chicago to be a part of the Thanksgiving Day parade...and...at the end of the day...it is a huge honor to be asked I guess...
We take the parade for granted...but other groups do consider it a very big deal..
