IN-Portage Relay for Life,"Kids Walk"

Here is the Mission report:

We were asked to participate in a Relay for Life walk in Portage,The Contact that brought us the Invite was Sparky(Mike Hansen) From Lightspeed Hobbies.Myself having a sister who is a Cancer Survivor I felt compelled to participate.Though my sister couldn't make the walk,I walked in her place.Shellie,our contact was very happy to have us attend,however she admitted to us at the walk that she had never seen any of the Saga...Her Husband assured me after the event that he would change that.we were not part of a team because Shellie was one of the organizers.and on the planning committee.

I got there at about 6:30am because Shellie and I had never met face to face and I proceeded to locate her,still not having been able to find her,she was very busy,Rudy(BH 3620) arrived,followed by Scott(TK2632)
then the three of us finally found Shellie and she told us where we should report.
As we were getting suited up,Phyllis(TK 1951) showed up,already in Armor and having walked the track once trying to find us.She had parked in the rear parking lot at the school.
Our dutys were simple,Stand around for pictures and help entertain at the kids games.And mingle with the public.

We had a blast playing the games with the kids,we had several kids who gave up their "tickets"so we could play the games.One little boy was so happy we were there he wanted to play all the games with all of us.
He kept making sure we all had tickets to play the games.We spent most of our time at the Kids area,but did make a couple of laps around the track,while posing for pics with the local police,and EMS services.an older model fire truck was on hand but I didn't recognize the communitys name,and didn't see any firefighters until we were getting ready to leave.
The Christian Rock band that was on hand played the Imperial March as we walked past the stage,one one of our laps,after they were set up.

We were on duty from 8:00am till about 9:30am when things people started to pack up,we decided to go ahead and suit down.
We Thanked our host,and suited down,with another successful event.
