I did send you an e-mail after I got back from Madison as instructed...but didn't hear from you (my e-mail to you might have ended up in you spam folder).......I am hoping the photo you took is better than the one I have....or maybe my image blew your camera up....lol.. Wish I could....but I am technology challenged and don't have a place to post pictures...I did send photos to the 501st so eventually there will be a photo there...and somewhere there are some photos of it at film con that a couple people took and posted...but I just can't remember where they are... lol... bows to Darien...thanks for the welcome.(Jedi habits are hard to break)...but you may have already run into me....I have enjoyed several outings with the 501st already ...the Childrens Costume Parade that got cancelled, the Matthew Stover Booksigning, and the Chicago Hunger Walk...along with a couple Cons....

Some replys to recent questions: 1). Boots - would the Equestrian Boots be varible as they would be a tight fitting to legs/calves? I guess, I would have to get them made 'cause of my calves are big/wide. The proper boots (and finding ones that will fit) was the most challenging part of this uniform. They are a rubber riding boot "wide calf" and were about $40 if I remember correctly. I can't seem to find them there any more.... .......so I did an Internet search. Maybe you might find other choices as well. They are the classic riding boot design without lacing or buckles. As far as I can tell, only black boots were used. To get the proper fit, the boots should extend just above the top of your calf. These types of boots can be found at tack shops, and occasionally at western stores. You can also find them online at places by searching for riding boots. You could also try a synthetic boot from Grand Prix. I hear the synthetic boots are nice, but they are slow on the delivery. Although not entirely accurate, German jackboots could also be used. Tandy Leather has everything you need to make this yourself, including a 2 inch belt blank, a square buckle blank, and one bottle of black dye. If you have the Star WArs Original Trilogy Visual Dictionary, there is a close up picture of the code cylinders. you can replace the tops, paint the tops, add pin-striping.............or just leave them plain. I wear a couple of each <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/wink.gif ALT=";)"> 5). Fabric - you prefer to use synthetic blend - gabardine. Is this a bit like wool OR similar & it does not make it hot - is that correct? This is also washable right. A fabric which would make a fine dress suit would work the best for this. I have used all synthetic, part synthetic and tropical weight wool. I do prefer the easier-care fabrics since I do wear my uniform often. It's much easier to maintain if I can wash it in the gentle cycle and hang-dry. You should line the front part of the jacket with the same material you use on the outside. The sleeves and the black can be made out of a traditional satin lining. What about the Polyester Gabardine - what do you think of it? I used a synthetic blend, a gabardine. The color, weight and texture (and price) were mostly what I paid attention to. The material looks exactly the same on the front and the back, so you can cut out pieces without worrying whether you have it on the "right" side. I washed all of the material in cold water first then tossed the fabric in the dryer. It is really important to me to use fabrics that are easy to care for. Although, I could have the jackets dry-cleaned. I wouldn't use a heavy wool, because I want to be able to wear the costumes for extended periods of time.

oooooooooh! That is great news.....I still don't like either pair of pants that I made...these look really great! Sigh...I used the last of my extra fabric to make the skirt for my "Imperial Secretary"....but...if I get my butt back to Fabric Wharehouse...maybe I can still find some of the black that I used.....they did say it was a stock fabric....
