I have Kim's scout armor parts but will not be able to make it ... If anyone is passing or will be in the summit area tomorrow morning on their way to the armor party and can grab it that would be great.. Just FYI the parts I have the chest piece and back piece just need to be connected with straps and Velcro the hump and topper have been completed.

Well main reason I was going was to help Kim with her scout, would love to come hang out but just a little to far for just that. Looks like everything I was going to bring is covered by others Looks like I will be working on things here.

Not much left on the scout just rivet the belt and strap everything together .. Most of the work is the boots and sewing the Velcro to the straps..

Totally understand Mark. It's a long ride for sure. Maybe next time...BLUERAM wrote:Well main reason I was going was to help Kim with her scout, would love to come hang out but just a little to far for just that. No need for anyone to get it. Was called for overtime. Need that more since I'm moving.

Still have to pack things up!
LOTS of little things I'm hoping to punch out:
- add elastic stirrups to my Solo pants
- trim the corners off of my TK belt piece and cut the canvas down to size (maybe reinforce it first)
- learn the proper way to sew patches onto a shirt
- figure out if there's any way to repair my Scout boots
- curve the shims on my TK greaves so they better fit the back of my ankles
- add snaps to my IG holster so that I can finally use it
- repair a crack in my TB belt, probably with a carefully shaped scab
MAN. I've got to get some of these things done on my own time one of these days...

Re: Armor and Prop Madness - Armor Party! Sun 2/10/13
darn. I just finished packing things up... Figured I'd better bring most of my TK, too, just to be sure I don't trim the belt too short when sizing it for Han.
Also bringing everything for the nerfherder, so that once the belt is done, I can just take my RL approval photos on the spot.
It's gonna be a rough commute. Man, I wish I had my own car...

Friend and I are packing and getting ready to leave Chicago in about an hour to hour and a half. All things going well we'll be there around noon! And if we are making lists of things that need doing!
1) stitch up a couple of seam tearing holes in jumpsuit.
2) cut up secondary suit material for pockets.
3) sew pockets onto flightsuit.
4) add vinyl cogs to proper locations just below the shoulders.
5) help everyone else in any way I can without getting underfoot.
6) leech pizza?

Sorry, I can't make it. Hopefully there will be another armor party in the future. I'll need help on my Boba Fett esb build.

Thank you Jon for all of your work on planning and executing this armor party...
It was great to have a nice, big space to work in....I know I had my cr*p all over the place and took up over 1/2 of one of the tables...
and...I actually got something done...always a bonus...
I managed to get another one of the Bespin Luke pouches sewn and the hardware put on...and it was great to get Doughboy's RFT shirt done for him...
Some photos:
http://s201.beta.photobucket.com/user/s ... 4690355832
and...
yes...
proof that men do read the directions:
ok...
.hewasn't actually READING them...he was just pretending...
and..to all those who took home jam and preserves...it is your solemn duty to give me feedback...be brutally honest.....if they are no good...then it doesn't make sense to continue making them.....mostly all of those preserves are "experimental" so....your feedback would be appreciated...
And Jon...if you want to unload this prototype..
lmk..
perfect size for a short person....who shall remain nameless
And...Cheryl....thanks for that leather kit!!
The best part of that besides completing the kit and making a Jedi pouch out of it
is that I can shrink it on the copier and make a pattern for some that are smaller too...
I love patterns...

Thank you so much Jon! Was an awesome time getting to meet all of you, even if I did spend most of the time in the corner with my friend.

This was resin dust covered blast! Many thanks to Thomas for his great help, and advice on my project. Also to Jon for not only organizing the get together, and the FOOD, but for his awesome belt boxes and Imperial disks. ROCK ON!
Many bothans died to bring you this post...the tearing of ligaments and almost the loss of a TK's finger...

Thank you Jon for organizing a great get together. Even though I learned what glue NOT to use ( grumble grumble ) Always nice to see everyone and actually get some work done. Its amazing how daunting that big brown box is sitting in the corner...all it takes is an event like this to spread it out, start working, and realize it's not quite so menacing
