I will be attending the Thanksgiving Day Parade...and the Toy Con event...
so...
if any Scouts will be attending those events and want a greeblie...lmk and I will bring that many along..
Jim Lawver...or Mark B....
If either of you would want to be point man for our members further South..if you can check with the Biker Scouts in your area if they are in need of one of these...and I can mail that many to one of you to pass out...
I HATE going to the Post Office...so I will try to do this as painless as possible..

Re: Attn: Biker Scouts
I sent the greeblies for Jim with Dylan...
and..
Brian...the big question...does it actually fit in the depression on the thermal det?
I was working with "theoretical" sizes and didn't have a real thermal det to work with.

Re: Attn: Biker Scouts
I checked the fit this morning, and unfortunately, the groove on the detonator is only about an inch tall. Now that I think about it, I think MonCal or Studio Creations mentioned retooling their detonator mold to accommodate the proper greeblie.
I may try using some putty to fill the groove in order to mount this greeblie, or it might be one more reason to upgrade my armor...

Re: Attn: Biker Scouts
bummer....
I should have asked how tall the depression REALLY is on the thermal dets that most have rather than working with other "theoretic" dimensions....

Re: Attn: Biker Scouts
This has been a common problem on the BSN forums. I tried sanding and putty but it didn't sit right.Fleetfang wrote:I checked the fit this morning, and unfortunately, the groove on the detonator is only about an inch tall. I ended up creating my own greeblie from scratch with a CAD program and 3D printed it out.
Gave it a rounded bottom so it would fit better (also made it a tad smaller in size b/c it looked better):
Had the same problem with the button too. Printed a new one with a slightly rounded bottom:
I think they turned out great in the end. Got me approved

Re: Attn: Biker Scouts
looks GREAT...
yeah...
I am bummed...
I put a lot of work into my piece ...and tried to work with dimensions as they were given in tutorials re: that detonator...
what I didn't know is that the detonators currently available appear to be smaller than the dimensions I was working with...
