ATA TK helmet build
I just received my ATA helmet kit tonight. I can't wait to get started! But, first... the little brown box...
And the contents...
I plan to add some electronics, likely ukswrath's hearing assist kit. May even go whole hog and through in an iComm. Probably easier to do that while I build, then fit it later. Or should I build it first?
I didn't think I'd be so intimidated by a box of plastic, having built scale models and slot cars all my life.

Re: ATA TK helmet build
Time to start asking questions... I started marking the helmet tonight, and I think I've got it about right.
I feel like I'm on the right track, but I'd appreciate any pointers.

I don't know the first thing about a TK bucket build myself. In the interim of seeing if someone replies here, are you registered at the FISD website (http://whitearmor.net)? That will be the Stormtrooper detachment, and there will be no question of receiving a quick response there...from a wealth of TK knowledge.

Oh yeah, I'm set up over there too. Thanks for the tip. I'm still debating if I go TK or TD on this one though... I've not registered at MEPD.com yet. Maybe this weekend I'll do some more research and see if I can make up my mind.Avatar190 wrote:I don't know the first thing about a TK bucket build myself. Re: ATA TK helmet build
Did some work on opening up the teeth last night. A few of the locals I converse with all suggest a little bit more, so tonight I'll be back at it again. Small files seem to work the best.
Looking at this last one, I can definitely see it. The smallest opening is definitely too round. Guess I need to put some magnifiers while I work.

Re: ATA TK helmet build
Finally made some progress this weekend. I managed to get the right ear on, but now I'm not sure it's right. Mine wants to lean forward, as seen in the last picture. Is this OK, or do I need to start over?

Re: ATA TK helmet build
Back and better than ever....kinda.
The TK is still ongoing, awating the armor from ATA to arrive. In the meantime, I've started a TIE build. Most of the parts are in, and trimming of the armor has begun. I'm thankful to have hooked up with a Mentor via the Jolly Rogers board, Pete, aka DrkTrooper, is helping out.
As I'm going through the build, I realized I'm almost ready to submit as a Bridge Crew, than a simple update to Reserve Pilot. I should be full 501st soon!

Re: ATA TK helmet build
A little Father's Day Progress. Spent a few minutes, or more, in the garage tonight. Cleaning up a bit and decided to get the bucket back on the bench. I will be touching up the vocoder, as I am NOT happy with it. The rest, well...I can live with it.
