Hello everyone
Hi. My name is Kevin. I live in Chicago in the Logan Square area. I'm currently putting together a snowtrooper costume. Although its really slow, I am making some progress. I'm hoping to have the whole thing exactly the way I want it, weathered and all by next year for Celebration.
I guess my newbie questions are how do I join the MWG and the 501st? Obviously I need to finish my costume first, but what steps should I take after that? Is there anything I can do now that will speed the process later on down the road? Thanks for any help. I'm very new to the costuming thing.

Re: Hello everyone
Well there's really nothing that will really "officially" speed things up, but the best things you can do is be active around here, ask questions, and feel free to keep an eye on where we're going to be appearing at and stop by and say hi.Vinylcapedjawa wrote:Hi. Welcome Kevin
I'd like to invite you to attend any 501st event that you can get to and talk to members about costuming and the 501st.
I might have been able to shave off some of the time and frustrations I had putting my costume together by talking with troopers who had done it before me. Emails only go so far. Face to face communication helps a lot.
Plus you get to see the costumes in person.

Greetings trooper,
and welcome to the MWG, we're all here to help you as much as we can, you've got a couple of troopers close to you that are doing other builds, and others who have finished their costumes.
As other troopers had mentioned earlier, feel free to peruse our boards, ask questions, and heck, come out to a troop and meet us. We love meeting new and interested members.
Thanks for signingup and
Welcome Aboard Trooper!

Welcome Kevin!
My snowie build was fantastic. I take great pride in my snowie since I took it from kit to finished and weathered, with a little insight and frustration from the Blizzard Force Boards.
If I can be of any help let me know-just PM me. Also I know Joe Flores, Damian, and Kathy have snowtroopers and I think Rich does too. So you have some great resources at your disposal.

Mine is at a point where I'm not afraid to wear it in public, however I still need to finish some detail work...Just haven't had much time to do it with the way work has been going.Things are finally starting to slow down so I should be able to get it finished and weathered soon, then it's on to approval....Also I know Joe Flores, Damian, and Kathy have snowtroopers and I think Rich does too. So you have some great resources at your disposal.
As always I'll be happy to share any info I've learned along the way.
