Chicago - McD’s Thanksgiving Parade 11/25/10
This Parade is an annual Chicago tradition and is broadcast nation-wide on the WGN network.
A quote from the Tribune read, " The 77th annual McDonald's Thanksgiving stepped off at 8 a.m. with a whirl of barechested Hawaiian flamethrowers, Budweiser Clydesdales, more the a dozen marching bands and a team of Star Wars stormtroopers."
This event was something I was really excited for. I have watched since I was a kid and now watch with mine.
It was really touch and go with our participation, but I'm very happy we managed to get so many troopers to come out at nearly the last minute on such a big holiday. And some having to travel far that day. So thank you again.
This was the second time the Legion has appeared in this parade, but not consecitively.
The members involved were

And thank yous to Darcy for being a Jedi and Ashly for being our eyes and ears and for being our photog.
Originally we were going to be walking with our very own SW related balloon (Darth Stewie) but there was a tear and he was sent away. We still made quite an impressive picture with 19 MWG/RL members marching for the city's enjoyment.
We did take some damage that day as TB101's bucket was broken during an Ewok ambush and RDB had a major leg injury. Both members continued on bravely.

It was a great troop! Thanks to Neil for driving! No guts no glory! Plus I only have to wear this ginarmous boot for 5 more weeks with a crutch woohoo that means I can be trooping again soon and be able to dance at the formal!
Thanks again Remo for setting this up and letting me attend it was an blast!

Many bothans died to bring you this post...the tearing of ligaments and almost the loss of a TK's finger...

Sorry this took so long but life gets in the way sometimes.
I had a great time with you all and love to troop with every one. I feel as if I'm part of your Garrison every time I come over to troop.
It is always good to see old friends and make a few new ones in the process.
Hats off to all who made it out for putting up with the cold ( and me ).
The Parade was a blast and thank you all for setting this up . I hope I didn't get too " Hyper " for the Parade. I tried really hard to just march and do as instructed. If I messed anything or anybody up I apologize , and please for give me. I hope they will have you back next year. After the response we got I would count on it. I have already put it on my calendar to troop again.
For all of the things that have been touched on as how we could have been better or this could have been changed ect...... I think it was perfect. The crowd did not even notice placement , or this was there , and that was that. They loved all of us for being there as we are, and none the wiser that anything was out of place (according to us ). I believe how picky about the detail of everything that we are, and that we are somewhat over critical of ourselves in all we do is why we pull off such a great presence and response from the public.
Sure things could always be better if we look back, but that's the fun of it for me to be even better next time.
Don't get down on our efforts they were well above and beyond.
A special thanks to those people ( and you know who you are ) who took care of me for this event. It was most appreciated. Also the people behind the scenes that make all this possible. You all do a great job.
One last thank you for our wrangler Ashley. You did this by yourself so we could play.
Thanks again for having me over I hope to be back again soon.
I had a couple pics not many , but here they are.
Ciao
